2025 Scholarship Recipient

Georgette Helo, ChiWIP's Fourth Annual Scholarship Recipient for the Advancement of Womxn in Law and/or STEM Graduate Studies

The Scholarship Committee is thrilled to announce Georgette Helo as this year’s recipient of the Chicago Women in IP Scholarship for the Advancement of Womxn in Law and/or STEM Graduate Studies. Georgette is a first-generation law student at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she is pursuing her JD with a focus on intellectual property law and is expected to graduate in May 2027. 

She has a strong academic record and deep commitment to service, including leadership roles in student organizations and ongoing volunteer work with the Girl Scouts and charitable fundraisers. She even organizes and hosts an annual fund raiser to benefit womxn and children in need. Georgette’s passion for empowering womxn is evident through her efforts to create educational and leadership opportunities for womxn both on campus and in the broader community. The Committee was especially impressed by her vision to expand access to intellectual property protections and her dedication to building inclusive networks for womxn in law and STEM.
