INITIATIVES

Girl Scouts: Since its inception, ChiWIP has hosted an annual event to help Brownie troops from Chicagoland and surrounding areas earn awards and badges directed to intellectual property. Resulting from a partnership between the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital (GSCNC) and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Owners (IPO) Association Education Foundation, the IP Patch for Girl Scouts was designed to increase awareness of the creation and protection of intellectual property across disciplines and particularly as it relates to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) for girls of all ages. At these events, ChiWIP volunteers help the troops attain their Girl Scout Inventor Badge along with their IP Patch. For more information on our past events, please visit Girl Scout Events.
