Each year at its summer Anniversary Party, ChiWIP recognizes the contributions of its members to the overall success of the organization. As a part of this recognition, ChiWIP awards two honors—Outstanding ChiWIP Member, and Outstanding ChiWIP Committee Member.

 

Outstanding ChiWIP Member

The Outstanding ChiWIP Member Award is given to a current ChiWIP member who has who has actively participated in at least three events within the immediate past calendar year. Nominations are accepted from all current ChiWIP members. Each nomination should outline this outstanding member’s commitment to ChiWIP through her:

• Advancement of the ChiWIP mission: To provide a forum for Chicago professional women in the field of Intellectual Property Law who are committed to the connection, promotion and success of women. Through various networking, mentoring, and community events, we strive to support women of all ages in all stages of their career.

• Mentorship and support of, and collaboration with, other ChiWIP members, building camaraderie in ChiWIP and the Chicago IP community.

• Commitment to increase ChiWIP membership through the recruitment and marketing of the ChiWIP organization and its mission.

Outstanding Committee Member

The Outstanding Committee Member award is given to a current ChiWIP committee member who has actively participated in her committee’s attainment of goals and commitments in the calendar year. Nominations are accepted from all current ChiWIP committee members. This outstanding member has demonstrated her ability to:

• Advance the ChiWIP mission: To provide a forum for Chicago professional women in the field of intellectual property law who are committed to the connection, promotion and success of women. Through various networking, mentoring, and community events, we strive to support women of all ages in all stages of their career.

• Fulfill and surpass her committees’ goals and tasks.

• Serve as an example for other members, through planning, attendance, and participation in ChiWIP events, outstanding leadership and promotion of ChiWIP to colleagues and women in IP.

• The winner must have met all obligations of committee membership to be eligible for the award.
