Chicago Women in IP (ChiWIP) hosted the Second Annual Post-Holiday Dinner on Wednesday, January 25th at Maggianos. Women (and men) from top Chicago corporations, law firms, law schools and service providers were in attendance to celebrate the overwhelming commitment to the advancement of women in the Chicagoland IP Community.
The progressive three course meal allowed for ample networking with new and old friends, lively discussions on trending topics such as best practices in growing our personal networks, mentoring/sponsorships connections and suggestions for ChiWIP’s growth in the coming year. ChiWIP’s founders kicked off the evening with introductory remarks which centered on appreciation for the current list of ChiWIP committee members, sponsors for the event, upcoming events and the Community Involvement Partner for 2017, GirForward. Through the significant sponsor support for this evening, and the several ChiWIP events held over the last 18 months, ChiWIP has been able perpetuate the advancement of women in the IP community and grow the organization. The organization’s growth over the last 18 months has surprised everyone - from the increase in attendance at each event to the diversity of programs offered to our members through the year. We cannot thank everyone enough for their encouragement, participation, and collaboration towards making ChiWIP such a success. With the many exciting events planned for 2017 already in the works, we are excited to see where we will be next year at this time.
