ChiWIP’s Community Involvement Committee hosted our event with Camp GirlForward on Friday, August 3 from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at Ocean Tomo. Camp GirlForward provides a space for girls to simultaneously build their English skills while exploring their identities and learning about the world around them. In cooperation with GirlForward, ChiWIP hosted a speed networking event for refugee high school girls participating in the camp with the aim of introducing them to women in a variety of careers. Professional women from Chicago represented a wide range of potential career paths and inspired the GirlForward high schoolers to dream big as they navigate through high school, college, and on to their chosen vocation.
